The perfect way to get started with vinyl
With well-crafted components and a simple, classic design, the Primary E offers the kind of build quality usually associated with more expensive models to help even vinyl newcomers get the most out of their records. Even better, the Primary E comes with the counterweight and anti-skating weight pre-set, so plugging in your turntable and getting records playing has never been easier.
Set up and ready to go out of the box
Setting up a turntable can be a time-consuming process, but the Primary E saves you the hassle of balancing your tonearm so that you can get straight into playing records. The counterweight and anti-skating weights are pre-set out of the box, making setup a simple plug-and-play affair.
With a pre-fitted cartridge made by Ortofon, the leading name in turntable cartridges, the Primary E has the warmth and precision to reveal new details in your favourite records, and the delicate touch to keep your records sounding great play after play.
Simple speed control
Play both 33rpm & 45rpm records with the simple manual speed control. Simply switch the drive belt onto the pulley suitable for your records.

What's in the box?
Pro-Ject has revised a budget deck ... and has succeeded on every front. The Primary E confidently nails the basics, from an even tonal balance to a delivery that’s clear and clean and spacious enough to keep things coherent. It is sensitive to the sullenness of the band’s instrumentals, demonstrating levels of detail and precision that are more than passable in the company of budget amplification and speakers.Read More
Set up is a breeze. From opening the box to spinning your first record on the Primary E, even if you have never so much as laid a finger on a record player before, should be no more than ten minutes. Pro-Ject has been refining their own unboxing process for the best part of twenty years now and the process has been refined to an art. There are very few turntables that are simpler to get up and running than this one.Read More
Looks and sounds fantastic right out of the box, super easy to set up and I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get into records.
My entire experience with Project audio from start to end has been amazing. The turntable was a gift for my sons birthday and i know very little about the systems. Their helpful staff (especially Ellery) were able to guide me to make the best choices to ensure my sons gift was everything he wanted. The follow up while ordering and even after we received it to make sure we didn't have any install issues and we got everything working OK. The turntable works wonderfully and the sound is amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend project audio to anyone, their customer service is second to none.
Belt was faulty and broke pretty much straight away. I've contacted support and a replacement one is on its way. The product looks awesome and I would still recommend it, provided that the new belt works fine
Fitted the bill perfectly as a compact high quality turntable and speaker combo. Very classy and great sound. Streaming via Bluetooth an added bonus. Great addition to our apartment
Bought a ProJect Primary E for a second ‘back to basics’ system to spin old vinyl. It arrived superbly packed and built and was virtually ‘plug and play’. The sonics exceeded my expectation - set it up with a well isolated mdf plinth with sorbothane feet and played through an external phono stage. The musical experience is highly immersive, rythmically foot tapping and addictive with very good tonal balance throughout. Highly recommended for those planning to dip their toes into vinyl and a bargain to boot ! 5 stars in my book
